Solar Portable Power

Solar portable power supply, also known as compatible solar mobile power supply, includes: solar panel, charge controller, discharge controller, mains charge controller, inverter, external expansion interface and battery, etc. The photovoltaic portable power supply can work in two modes of solar power and ordinary power, and can switch automatically. Photovoltaic portable power sources are widely used, and are ideal power supply equipment for emergency disaster relief, tourism, military, geological exploration, archaeology, schools, hospitals, banks, gas stations, comprehensive buildings, highways, substations, family camping and other field activities or emergency power supply equipment.

Shopping points

Portable solar power is composed of three parts: solar panels, special storage batteries and standard accessories. The first two are the keys that affect the quality and performance of power products, and should be considered in the purchase process.

Folding Solar Panels

There are three types of solar panels on the market, including monocrystalline silicon solar panels, polycrystalline silicon solar panels, and amorphous silicon solar panels.

Monocrystalline silicon solar cells are the most commonly used semiconductor cells for producing solar power. Its production process has been finalized, with high stability and photoelectric conversion rate. Both the Shenzhou 7 and Chang'e 1 launched by my country use monocrystalline silicon solar cells, and the conversion rate can reach 40%. However, due to the high cost, the conversion rate of monocrystalline silicon solar cells on the market is between 15% and 18%.

The cost of polycrystalline silicon solar cells is lower than that of monocrystalline solar cells, and the photosensitivity is better, which can be sensitive to sunlight and incandescent light. But the photoelectric conversion rate is only 11%-13%. With the development of technology, the efficiency is also improving, but the efficiency is still slightly inferior to that of monocrystalline silicon.

The conversion rate of amorphous silicon solar cells is the lowest, the international advanced level is only about 10%, while the domestic level is basically between 6% and 8%, and it is not stable, and the conversion rate often drops sharply. Therefore, amorphous silicon solar cells are mostly used in weak electric light sources, such as solar electronic calculators, electronic clocks and so on. Although the price is low, the price/performance ratio is not high.

In general, when choosing a portable solar power supply, monocrystalline silicon and polycrystalline silicon are still the main ones. It is best not to choose amorphous silicon because of cheapness.

Special battery for folding

Special storage batteries for portable solar power on the market can be divided into lithium batteries and nickel-metal hydride batteries according to materials.

Lithium batteries can be charged at any time and have no memory effect. Liquid lithium-ion batteries are lithium batteries commonly used in traditional mobile phones or digital cameras. In contrast, polymer lithium electronic batteries have more advantages. They have the advantages of thinning, arbitrary area and arbitrary shape, and will not cause safety problems such as liquid leakage and combustion explosion. Therefore, aluminum-plastic batteries can be used. The composite film makes the battery casing, thereby increasing the specific capacity of the entire battery. As the cost gradually decreases, polymer lithium-ion batteries will replace traditional liquid lithium-ion batteries.

The problem with nickel-metal hydride batteries is that both charging and discharging have a memory effect, the efficiency is relatively low, and the voltage of each battery cell is smaller than that of lithium-ion batteries, which is generally not used by portable solar power sources.

In addition, qualified portable solar power batteries will have overcharge overload, overvoltage and overcurrent protection functions. After the battery is fully charged, it will automatically shut down and no longer charge, and it will automatically cut off the power supply to protect the battery and electrical equipment when it is discharged to a certain extent.
