solar power charger

A solar charger is a charger that employs solar energy to provide power to a device or battery. They are usually portable.

This type of solar charger setup typically uses a smart charge controller. A series of solar cells are installed in fixed locations (ie: the roof of the house, the location of the pedestal on the ground, etc.) and can be connected to a battery bank to store energy for off-peak usage. In addition to saving energy during the day, you can also use them in addition to the chargers that power them.

Most portable chargers can only get power from sunlight. Examples of solar chargers in mass use include:

Small portable models designed to charge cell phones, cell phones, iPods or other portable audio devices for a range of different ranges.

A foldable model designed to sit on the car's dashboard and plug into a cigar/12V light socket to keep the battery under cover when the vehicle is not in use.

The flashlight/torch is often combined with a secondary charging method, such as a kinetic (hand crank generator) charging system.

Public solar chargers are permanently installed in public places such as parks, squares and streets, and are free for anyone to use.

solar chargers on the market

Portable solar chargers are used to charge cell phones and other small electronic devices. Chargers on the market today use various types of solar panel thin-film panels with efficiencies of 7-15% (about 7% for amorphous silicon and closer to 15% for cigarettes), with higher efficiency monocrystalline panels can provide efficiencies as high as 18% .

Another type of portable solar chargers are those on wheels that allow them to be transported from one place to another and used by many people. They are semi-public, considering the fact that they are used publicly but not permanently installed.

The solar charger industry is plagued by companies producing inefficient solar chargers that fail to meet consumer expectations. This, in turn, makes it difficult for new solar charger companies to gain consumer trust. Solar companies are starting to offer high-efficiency solar chargers. Instead of using kerosene lamps, developing countries are taking advantage of portable solar energy for respiratory infections, lung and throat cancer, serious eye infections, cataracts, and low birth weight. Solar power offers rural areas an opportunity to "go beyond" traditional grid infrastructure and move directly to distributed energy solutions.

Some solar chargers also come with an on-board battery that is charged when charged by the solar panel. This enables users to use the solar energy stored in the battery to charge electronic devices at night or when indoors.

Solar chargers can also be rolled or flexible and use thin-film PV technology. Rollable solar chargers may include lithium-ion batteries.

Currently, the price of foldable solar panels has dropped to the point where almost anyone can deploy at the beach, biking, hiking or any outdoor location and charge their phone, tablet, computer, etc. Solar chargers come into the table, so can have multiple functions .
